For a decade the Colgate-funded TerraCycle programme took toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, floss containers and mouthwash bottles free of charge through schools and dental practices. Its page now states that Colgate is closing the programme and asks collectors to send their last shipment by 30 December 2026; new sign-ups appear closed and TerraCycle points to its paid Oral Care Zero Waste Box.

Honest framing: this is the pattern with brand-funded schemes; they end when the marketing budget does. Bamboo or replaceable-head brushes and toothpaste tablets avoid the problem.
