Beyond Plastics, led by Judith Enck, a former regional administrator at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), trains local organisers, opposes new plastics and so-called chemical-recycling plants, and campaigns for laws such as New York's Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act. Donations fund staff, training and campaigns.
It is fiscally sponsored by Bennington College, a 501(c)(3) (Employer Identification Number 03-0179414), so US gifts are deductible but there is no separate Charity Navigator profile; ask for the project's own financial summary if you are giving a large amount.
