Plastic Clever Schools is the de-facto international award for schools cutting single-use plastic. Schools work through three steps: gather evidence (an audit), investigate (lessons and pupil research) and act (remove items, change policy), then submit evidence for accreditation. It was endorsed as a UN Ocean Decade project in 2025. Our School Pledge Board and audit tools are designed to feed schools into this scheme rather than duplicate it.

Who made and funded this: Kids Against Plastic and Common Seas (both UK charities). How to use it: run our Classroom Plastic Audit and 30-day Swap Challenge as your evidence and act steps, then register. Free; link only. Note: the site returned a Transport Layer Security (TLS) error when we checked on 22 September 2026; try the .co.uk mirror if the .org address fails.
