Surfers Against Sewage's Plastic Free Schools offers eight downloadable lesson units in KS2 (7–11) and KS3 (11–14) versions: Science of Plastic, The Great Plastic Debate, Talking Rubbish, Plastic Persuasion, On the Plastics Trail, Climate and Ocean, Ocean Recovery and Water Quality, plus a board game, an Ocean Activist Journal and an Individual Action Plan tracker. The accreditation programme runs over one academic year and asks schools to eliminate three single-use items, the same target our pledge uses.

Who made and funded this: Surfers Against Sewage, a UK environmental charity, funded by memberships, donations and corporate partnerships (check current partners on their site). How to use it: written for the English National Curriculum but no codes are printed; use our lesson plans for the codes and these units for depth. Free, no registration; link only.
