Algalita, founded by Captain Charles Moore who first documented the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, runs the Wayfinder Society with student and educator hubs. Its 'Plastic Ocean: human impact' lesson is explicitly mapped to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) MS-ESS3-3 and fits our ages 12–14 lesson's monitoring-method task.

Who made and funded this: Algalita Marine Research and Education, a US non-profit funded by donations and grants. How to use it: the NGSS-coded partner lesson for grades 6–8. Link only.
